  1. Your menu posts inspire me to make sure I'm doing a menu too. I made one for this upcoming week, nothing too fancy since I'll be getting back into the swing of things:1) your Honey Garlic chicken recipe with fried rice2) Lighthouse Sandwich recreation from a restaurant on vacation – hummus, broccoli slaw and fresh tomato slices on toasted whole wheat, alongside Bean with Bacon Soup3) Slowcooker shredded chicken seasoned for tacos, with Spanish rice and broccoli4) Orange chicken and broccoli5) Turkey Bacon BLTs with oven fries and fresh fruit6) Hebrew National hot dogs, baked beans and broccoli7) Grilled cheese and tomato soup (which we just discovered Harper loves)!Since you love cooking and couponing I wanted to tell you about a deal my favorite spice company, Penzey's, has right now – if you order online at penzeys.com you can get some freebies with any order. Use the Express Ordering selection from the drop-down tab and you can enter two codes, 15985C and 83018C. One is for a free seasoning blend called Forward and the other is for a gift set that includes cinnamon and Forward. The gift set is aimed at Teachers and I know you home school, but that makes you a teacher of your girls. 🙂 Some of my other favorite blends are Greek Seasoning (which is great stirred into slightly cooled pasta tossed with olive oil, olives, tomatoes, cheese etc) and Fajita Seasoning, which is *so* good for Mexican-style cooking and what I will season those chicken tacos with. They're pretty reasonable and so much fun to experiment with different flavors.

  2. Kim – I'm glad you are menu planning too. It really makes dinner time sooo much easier for me when I know ahead what we're having. That sandwich recreation on your menu sounds delicious! Thank you for the tip on the spices. I will definitely check those out. 🙂
